This page covers the terms under which Uinta Electronics performs repair work and the privacy practices we follow when you contact us, book a repair, or hand off a device. By scheduling a repair or dropping off a device, you agree to the terms below.
We’re a small Utah-based shop. We’ve written this in plain English on purpose. If anything here is unclear, call us at (801) 210-0383 before you book and we’ll walk you through it.
Uinta Electronics performs diagnostic, repair, and refurbishment services on consumer and small-business electronics, including phones, tablets, laptops, desktops, game consoles, and board-level soldering work. We offer in-shop service at our Lehi, UT location and free pickup & delivery across Utah County.
We reserve the right to decline a repair if a device is determined to be unsafe, contains evidence of liquid or thermal damage beyond economical repair, or shows signs of prior tampering that compromises our ability to warranty the work.
Diagnostic intake is free. Once we identify the cause of the issue, we’ll provide a written estimate before performing any paid work. You may approve, decline, or request alternatives. If you decline, no repair is performed and no charge is incurred beyond a reasonable handling fee for devices that required disassembly to diagnose.
Approved repairs are billed at the quoted price unless additional issues are discovered mid-repair; in that case we’ll pause work and contact you for a revised approval before continuing.
All parts and labor are covered by a 1-year limited warranty from the date of return. If the same component fails under normal use within that window, we’ll re-repair or replace it at no charge.
The warranty does not cover:
If you believe a repair has failed, contact us within the warranty period. We may request photographs or a return shipment for inspection.
We do not browse, copy, transmit, or store the contents of your device outside of what is required to verify the repair (e.g., powering on the device and confirming functionality). Where a repair requires us to know a passcode or PIN, we ask only when necessary and forget it after the device is returned. If you would prefer to keep your code private, we’ll work around it where possible; some repairs will be limited as a result.
If a device remains at our shop more than 60 days after we’ve notified you that it is ready for pickup (or that the estimate has been declined), it will be considered abandoned. After 60 days we may dispose of, recycle, or sell the device to recover storage and labor costs. We’ll make at least two attempts to reach you (phone and email) before this happens.
Our liability for any claim related to a repair is limited to the amount you paid for that repair. We are not liable for incidental or consequential damages, including lost data, lost income, or replacement-device costs.
This limitation does not affect any rights you have under Utah consumer-protection law that cannot be waived by contract.
To run a repair business we collect only what we need to do the work:
We use your information to schedule and perform the repair, to keep you informed of progress, to honor warranty claims, and to send you receipts and (where you’ve opted in) occasional service reminders. We do not sell or rent your information to third parties under any circumstances.
We share information with service providers only as required to operate: our payment processor for transactions, our email provider to deliver booking confirmations, and our scheduling system. Each is bound by their own privacy terms and uses the data only on our behalf. We do not share your information with advertisers or data brokers.
We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Uinta Electronics, our customers, or the public.
You can request a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or request that we delete it (subject to records we’re required to keep for tax or warranty purposes). Email us at hello@uintaelectronics.com with the subject line “Data request” and we’ll respond within 30 days.
If you contacted us in error and would like to be removed from our records entirely, just let us know.
